LITTLE FOREVERS BY KATIE KALESKI | Review - Sweet and refreshing.

Hey Haven Invaders! I know, I've been rather terrible with writing posts that are more personable. A bit of craziness happened, but its summer now! I'll definitely be taking on more books for review and blog tours, but I want to go with my plan for the compiled review posts. This is only one book review, but I'm including some recommendations as well. (After thought: I added an old review. Amazon links are in LARGE font.)
You know my drill: I write reviews that are short and sweet, directly to the point about what I felt while reading. The book's cover and synopsis will be right above my review.

Little Forevers
by Katie Kaleski

Phoebe likes Gage, but there's a problem—he's her brother's best friend.

As the result of an extra-marital affair, Phoebe Bautista has had little contact with her dad, none with her step-mom, and her siblings have just recently learned of her existence. Now she goes to stay with them while her mom is on assignment in The Yukon for three months. As she tries to find her place and navigate the developing and rocky relationship with her temporary family, she begins to spend time playing music with her brother, Oliver, along with his best friend, Gage.

Gage is cute, smart, has selective mutism, and makes Phoebe’s heart skip a beat, but she knows she has to fight her feelings for him, so she doesn’t ruin her growing bond with Oliver. But the more time the three of them spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore what she feels for Gage, especially when she learns he might like her too.

And with her dad pretending everything’s fine, the fact that she might never belong anywhere, and knowing that she only has so much time with her new family, Phoebe might not make it out with her heart intact.

Beautifully written and perfectly refreshing ❤
Little Forevers has to be one of the best books I've read this year. I absolutely adore Oliver, Gage and Phoebe. The brother-sister relationship that forms between Phoebe and Oliver is one I envy and admire. I love the slow building of the romance between Phoebe and Gage. Katie Kaleski writes beautifully and this story was so sweet, and refreshing, and wonderfully perfect.

Side note: This book is currently free on AMAZON, but only for today! So grab your copy now! Also, I did get an ARC of this book from the author for honest review, but also pre-ordered my copy.

Up next are some more books by the lovely Katie Kaleski. I have not read them yet, but that is because I am waiting for the final installment so I can marathon them. The Now or Never Moment is 4 novellas, serialized from what was originally going to be a full-length novel. Yes, I did my research and have been keeping tabs. This series is also FREE TODAY ONLY, so I recommend you grab it!

The Now or Never Moment: Freshman Year

Tanner writes Shelby a love letter of epic proportions, but by the time she reads it, he’s already gone.

Shelby Dudek and Tanner Tally have been inseparable ever since freshman year after she intervened with his face getting pummeled in. Fast forward four intense years--Shelby is leaving for college. Without Tanner. Three days before she’s set to move, he hands her an envelope with explicit instructions: In no way shape or form is she to open the envelope until she is perfectly settled in at school. She is not to even think of it until then.

No one has seen Tanner since that moment.

Shelby opens the envelope and starts to read out loud to her roommate in hopes of finding some answers, but she starts to get answers to questions she never thought to ask. And in the letter, high school has only just begun.

The Now or Never Moment: Sophomore Year

Tanner writes Shelby a love letter of epic proportions, but by the time she reads it, he’s already gone.

In the letter Tanner wrote, sophomore year has begun. As Shelby continues to read out loud, she wants to know why he kept so many things secret. During her reading, she finds out more, and some events that took place in high school start to make more sense. And the story of Shelby and Tanner’s high school years draws in more listeners besides her roommate. They all need to know what happens next.

The Now of Never Moment: Junior Year

Tanner writes Shelby a love letter of epic proportions, but by the time she reads it, he’s already gone.

No matter how much Tanner wants to be invisible, events that happen throughout junior year force him into the spotlight. And as Shelby relives everything he went through and what they went through together, she starts to see that she still doesn’t know the whole story.

I decided to add one more and this book I reviewed in a blog tour last year.

A Fabrication of the Truth

The last time Lexie Stein saw Dalton Reyes he lay in a pool of blood, hovering somewhere between life and death. Now, five years later, he’s the new guy in her high school.

What happened between then and now is a mystery Lexie is afraid to explore. Just one lie uncovered from her past can cause the house of cards she’s so carefully constructed to come crashing down around her. And Dalton is the key to that past.

She doesn’t need her grandmother’s warnings to convince her that Dalton means trouble. But the bond they shared as kids seems to have only gotten stronger, transforming into something wonderful and powerful.

When Dalton opens up about the intervening years and what they mean for his future, Lexie is determined not to let him get away a second time.

Fibs become lies. Lies eventually eat away at you. There are also times when you have to live day by day, and like you may not have a tomorrow. Katie Kelski helps enlighten this topic, in this book. I am at a true loss for words right now. I literally just finished reading this book. And I feel like I have so much I could say, but the words not coming out.

My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars.
This book became an automatic 5 Star read for me when I hit 80% mark. Mini heart attack. I was screaming. I was crying. I lost it. My own mother shouted across the house, asking what the heck was wrong with her eldest, 23 year old, daughter. (Now 24)
If you enjoyed books like Never Tear Us Apart and Never Let You Go by Monica Murphy, Under My Skin by Laura Diamond, Love in B Minor and FEAR ME, FEAR ME NOT by Elodie Nowodazkij, then this is definitely for you. This book is heart-wrenchingly amazing. Its the kind of book that will have you up all night. I have proof, if needed. Not that I plan to show off the black circles beneath my eyes.
