Hey Haven Invaders! I've got another book review/recommendation for you.
Minor Disclaimer: I requested a copy of this book through Xpresso Book Tours.
All opinions expressed in this review are my own. I tend to write my reviews short and sweet, to the point and without spoilers. If for any reason that I do have a spoiler, it will be recognized like this >>>> ♥ <<<< Spoilers will have text color in white. If you're not opposed to spoilers, you can simply highlight the marked section and the letters will show up for you. Otherwise, my reviews do not contain spoilers.
This post will contain an Amzn Aff. link. Any purchase made through my link will give me a very small commission. Just pointing this out, though I don't think it matters . . .
And before I let you scroll down to my review, I would like to point something out. I don't know why, but it took me a while to actually start reading this book. I received it back at the end of January. I've had a bit going on and it's been hard for me to just stop and enjoy reading as often as I used to. I have had a lot keeping me from hiding in my reading corner. It's only in the last few weeks that I've put my foot down and have been reading more, more often.
Now that I've got those disclaimers out of the way, let's jump into some information about the book!
Prince of Midnight
(Dracula’s Bloodline #1)
by Ana Calin
Let me tell you a secret--Dracula had a brother. This is true. They called him Radu the Handsome, but his beauty was deceiving, and it hid a deadly secret...
With high ambitions as a journalist, Juliet Jochs travels to the Carpathians to investigate a mysterious and unnaturally beautiful prince. She suspects that he's a dangerous man and that this mission may cost her life. But, as the prince's masks begin to peel off, she fears she may lose her sanity.
Prince Radek's dark powers suck Juliet into a whirl of hypnotic desire--no woman has ever resisted his lures. But something is different about her, special, and he's growing dangerously addicted to her. She must keep her head above the water if she is to save herself, run away and not look back before he consumes her completely. But can she resist opening the last door to his most terrible secret?

One of my favorite myths/legends is Dracula. A lot of people wouldn't assume this about me, but it is the honest truth. When I first heard of this book, I didn't know that I actually wanted to read it, despite the amazing reviews it has received. Mostly because there are so many books out there with a similar theme. However, I wanted to give this book a shot. I'm really glad that I did because Ana Calin has given me a new spark of interest for tales of Dracula. Not only was the romance brilliant, but the character development was awesome. I really enjoyed the dark theme of the story. The romance is steamy and addictive. Brother interactions were on point. It's a really great read.
Amazing writing. I have not read anything from Ana Calin before this book. I am extremely impressed with the turnout of the plot and am extremely eager to read the next book(s) in the series.
