Draw Play
by Tia Lewis
A Sports Romance
Publication Date: September 5, 2016
Genres: New Adult, Contemporary, Sports, Romance
Jake lives and breathes football. When he’s not demonstrating his skills on the field, he’s busy putting the moves on every hot girl on campus. The last thing he needs is a tutor cramping his style but curvy Claire gets under his skin in more ways than one.
Claire can’t stand football players, and Jake is just as cocky and arrogant as the worst of them. He’s also impossibly sexy. Despite their frequent arguments, she starts to see another side to him and finds him increasingly hard to resist.
When they finally surrender, the heat they generate could melt the North Pole, but is Jake really willing to sacrifice his image for Claire? Or will she be left on the sidelines with a broken heart?
Draw Play is a very steamy standalone, full-length football sports romance novel. It’s only recommended for audiences 18+. No cheating. No cliffhangers. Guaranteed HEA.
DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book in exchange for honest review. I am a bit late in getting this up, but I got it done!
I am in love with this book now! When I started reading this book, I couldn't wait to get into it. Something about a smart girl tutoring the head-jock, I don't know. Now, that might seem to be a bit typical, but definitely not when Tia writes it.
No need for me to get into explaining too much about Jake, except that . . . like everyone else, he's got scars. We all have them, right? Claire definitely has scars. Her scars involve a football jock who made her feel like crap. So, imagine what its like for Claire to learn that she has to tutor a football jock. Its de-jock vu for Claire, and she hasn't even met the guy yet.
The first meeting between tutor and tutee is not ideal. Both characters don't really want to be there. When the sessions begin, the two are always butting heads. However, coming to a sort of truce, after somewhat lashing out on each other, they start to get along a little better. But that doesn't mean they don't still lash out now and then. Misunderstandings are quite constant between the two.
It does not really take long for Claire to catch Jake's attention. She starts taking a little bit of time to get dolled up and boom! Who is this lovely creature? Of course, Jake doesn't immediately have reaction, but towards mid-point reading, it all hits home. Literally.
My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars.
Who doesn't love HEAs? Okay, granted, there are many, in fact, who enjoy a good twist in fate, but I fawn over HEAs. This book has a very great HEA and like it says above: NO CLIFFHANGER! If you are one of those people who cannot handle cliffhangers, this book is for you!
