Hi Paige, welcome. How are you?

Um, tired I guess. How long is the interview again?

Not long. I know you’re busy. Speaking of which, you have a lot on your plate right now.

I do. Senior year is really crazy. So many projects. I get asked to help out a lot.

So I’ve heard. Rumor has it, though, that you’ve been spotted with a guy recently—Ben Franklin, right? Anything we should know about?

Oh, that. He’s just a friend.

So you don’t have a thing for him?

::sighs:: I plead the fifth.

Really? That’s all you’re going to say? Because someone saw you two in your car the other day. What was that about?

I was fixing his hair, that’s all.

That’s not what it looked like, but you’re blushing, so let’s move on. How are things at home?

Okay. My mom still has us on that diet, but I’ve had a lot of chances to sneak sweets lately, which keeps me sane.

And the piano recital?

Ugh, don’t ask. I’m still working on the piece.

Fair enough. Here’s a serious question—where do you see yourself in five years?

Harvard medical school. After finishing pre-med at Stanford.

You don’t sound sure.

It’s…maybe I’m not sure. I don’t know. Daddy really wants me to go to Stanford, and my mom isn’t good about changes to “The Plan.” Even if I wanted to go somewhere else, I don’t think they’d approve.

But…what do you want?

Wow. You know, almost no one asks me that. Just Zoey. And Ben. Anyway, I’m not sure what I want. I do know I want to work with Alzheimer’s patients, but maybe not as a neurologist like  Daddy.

Understood. So, I heard another rumor—that you hosted a very, ahem, hot car wash at your house the other day.

Oh, God. Please don’t ask me about that.

Okay, but answer this question—did you really make Ben take his shirt off?

::mumbles:: Had to show off the merchandise. For, uh, Zoey.

One last thing—you have a real heart for helping people. Have you ever thought maybe you should take some time for yourself? Take a break?

::wistful sigh:: Yeah, actually. But there’s a lot I have to get done first.

Like fall in love? Uh huh, I see that blush.

Okay, okay. Yes, like maybe fall in love.

Dream Cast: Finding Perfect

The first thing friends ask when I tell them I’m writing a new book is, “Who would play your characters in a movie?” Finding Perfect looks a lot like a John Hughes movie in my imagination, with a great soundtrack and realistic characters. So who would I choose to play those characters?

  Paige

Paige is brunette, too serious for her own good sometimes, with eyes full of soul and pain she tries hard to hide. Which makes Alice Englert a great choice.

Ben

Ben is tall, with glasses, an analytical mind, and a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He’s strong, but constantly worrying about the future. Given his strong personality and hidden vulnerability, I think Asa Butterfield would do him justice. 

Zoey

Blond, blue-eyed, gorgeous Zoey—who also happens to be a fantastic friend to Paige. A beautiful girl with a surprising side. And for that, we need Elle Fanning.

Characters/Plot: Hannah is a chem major in college, and Ben just happens to be the one to recommend one of the best books to her when she gets caught in the rain at the bookstore he works in. The two click from the start, which adds to the feels. Ben can be himself around Hannah, and vice versa. Ben's passion for the books he reads! He's so cool! Perfect match for Hannah, and they did not even know it at the start. They just feel comfortable around each other. And then everything just . . . explodes. Briefly. Or not so brief. Such a great plot and everything just went along perfectly.

My Honest Opinions/Thoughts: Bookstore Boy.This book hit home within the first few chapters. I love that Ben is a bookworm *heart skips a beat* He has to be the COOLEST character I have ever read. Quite frankly, this book is amazing and I would recommend it to all bookish girls (and guys) who like this kind of story.The title recommends itself. This Book Will Change Your Life.

Extra: 

Ben is tall, has dark eyes and has glasses. Now, it was no question why this is Ben in my head. I mean, this is not the best picture, because this is not Happy Ben.

I will be adding a Hannah soon, I want to read the book again and see if I can give her a face. But Ben was piece of cake.

Disclaimer: I received a review copy (via NetGalley) in exchange of an honest review. (Not my usual NA content . . .)

Characters/Plot: Kaden is quite the character. The cover does his description justice. Annabelle is sensible, I suppose, up until you realize how attracted she is to Kaden, who is an E.T. Right from the start, you learn that they both have feelings for each other, more than best friends should. And then things get steamy, like a lot. Also, you get attached to their relationship, and when the road gets bumpy, it hits home.

My Honest Opinions/Thoughts: I bloody cried towards the end, when Kaden lied to Annabelle. My heart was wrenched from my chest, and I bloody L♥VED it! Totally worth the read for those of you who like Sci-Fi and steamy romance. And hot-headed best friends who will kick a guy's butt for breaking her girl's heart.
I have read a lot of EntangledPub's books, mainly Crush and a few from Embrace. But I did not know what to expect from Crave, and I was not disappointed. Under His Skin was a great read and I am sure I will read it again.

Fun Facts About Writing THE BODY INSTITUTE

1. BOYFRIEND NO MORE. The main character, Morgan Dey, used to have a boyfriend named Aaron in the beginning of the novel—until 8 months before the book was published. He got slashed by Carol’s Entangled Teen editor. In the original version, Morgan broke up with him by walloping him in virtual paintball.

2. BEST FRIEND TWEAK. Morgan’s best friend, Blair McClure, was called Bunny in the first drafts. Blair sounds more serious and fits her better, now that she’s Morgan’s science-minded friend.

3. TITLE CHANGE. The previous title of THE BODY INSTITUTE used to be SHAPERS. This was changed by Strange Chemistry when the book was under contract with them, before they went out of business and Entangled Teen picked up the book. ET liked the new title and kept it.

4. EVEN EARLIER TITLES. Back in 1990 when the novel was just an idea, the working title was FARRADAY’S FAT FARM. In 2010 when Carol started the actual writing, this morphed into EMRT. (Electromagnetic Resonance Transfer—the process of downloading one person’s brainmap into another person’s body.)  An editor at an SCBWI conference wisely suggested that Carol change this to SHAPERS. (Now the body-swapping process is more simply called ERT, which is more reader-friendly.)

5. INSTITUTE WORKERS. When the book was called SHAPERS, the weight loss was performed by workers called Shapers, instead of being called Reducers as they are now.  

6. AVATARS NO MORE. In early versions, Morgan had a holographic princess warrior avatar that popped up on her phone; she used this instead of the texts and voice-to-text that appear in the final version of the book. Bunny communicated using a (duh) bunny avatar, and Krista used a slinky clown. Morgan’s ex-boyfriend Aaron was a troll.

Characters/Plot: Do not judge this book by the cover (though it very pretty), because this is not as light-hearted as you would think. At least, not in the first quater-half or so. In this book, though the description says the main character's name is Ruby, she is called Mia in the review copy(IDK if that was intentional, but I don't care). She works hard to get good grades and save money for college. At the beginning, Drew gives off the impression that he could use a hug. Literally, I wanted to write myself into the story

My Honest Opinions/Thoughts: Such a great story about healing wounds and forgetting the past. Something I relate to, yet again. There were parts that just wrenched my heart from my chest, and I felt like crying. Only the best books can do that to me, and this book is that great. Also, is the cover not the cutest?! 

Extra: I'm back with more visuals! I mean, I only went as far as seeing Drew, so please forgive me for not seeing the girl. Drew has green eyes, so I thought of the perfect pair of green eyes. ♥ Do you know who this handsome dude is? I mean, I know his face, but I can never actually remember his name.

About the Author
I was born in Northampton, England, the eldest of 4 children (I have 3 younger brothers), and I took my eldest child responsibilities very seriously. When I said jump, they asked how high. They’re all a lot taller than me now, so I’ve had to change tactics for getting my own way.

School and I weren’t a match made in heaven. I was bored a lot of the time, and it seemed much more fun to dream up ways of disrupting lessons than to actually pay attention. Which could explain why I was always in trouble! But I redeemed myself later, when at twenty-one I went back to full-time study. Except, I got carried away and became a bit of a qualification tart. I even worked in education for a number of years – lecturing.

But all the time I was never content. I knew there was something missing, just didn’t know what. Until I discovered writing.

I wasn’t one of those people who wrote from being a small child. I did read though. I’ve always been an avid reader. And it took me a few years of thinking about writing before I actually started. But now, I wouldn’t do anything else, and I never get bored!

I moved to New Zealand (a beautiful country) from the UK twelve years ago, with my husband and two children. After working at a university for three years I left to work in our motel and devote more time to my writing. I wish I’d done it sooner! Two years ago we moved to the Sunshine Coast in Australia. Another perfect place to write.

In my spare time I love going to the movies, watching TV, walking on the beach, and playing with our gorgeous Labrador.
