Haddie's Haven: Let's visit Bright Park! | #InvadersWelcome #DontTouchTheFox

Hey Invaders! Firstly, you've probably seen me share one (or maybe 2?) of these books back when I was (kinda) still getting the hang of book blogging. I absolutely love this series. The author, Sibyl Eisley, is a good friend of mine and she has sent me each of the books whenever they release. Before I get into sharing the books and their synopsis', please know that the reason I share this series is because I adore it. Yes, it gets the author/series out there. But that's what we book bloggers do. When we LOVE and ADORE a book/series, we share it! This is the complete Bright Park stand-alone series.
Another thing, I'm only sharing the books' synopsis. If the book doesn't have a Goodreads review/my thoughts, there will be a Goodreads link somewhere. Cover captions link to Amazon. A couple are FREE! On with the books!

If You Run
(Bright Park Romance, #1)
Kindle Edition, First Edition
111 pages
Published June 17th 2016

Fifer Parry has had a crush on Cecil Hatchfeld for months, ever since Cecil started working as her stepdad’s assistant. Cecil’s tall, handsome, and slightly mysterious—and once Fifer actually talks to him, it turns out they really click.

But even though she might have found the right guy, it’s neither the right time nor the right place for Cecil. He’s leaving for the opposite side of the country in a matter of weeks, and he’s certain that he doesn’t want to come back. Fifer can’t let a potential Mr. Right disappear so soon…

So, she packs her bags and joins him on a cross-country road trip.

It would be the perfect solution, except Fifer has a life waiting for her back home, over two thousand miles away. Cecil’s convinced a long distance relationship wouldn’t work out. But Fifer can’t ignore their deep connection, both emotional and physical, and she’ll do whatever it takes to prove him wrong.

** Please note: This book contains mild sexual content and frequent profanity. **

This is a complete story – no cliffhanger – but it is the first in a series about the residents of Bright Park. It is near novella length at approximately 30,000 words.

If You Run (Bright Park Romance, #1)If You Run by Sibyl Eisley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so sweet. I love how everything played out. I liked how the characters both had a love for indie music. The road trip to Vegas is not what won me over. It was Fifer's determination around Cecil. I really like how sweet and (almost) innocent it was. In a way, this book was refreshing to read after the several other books I've been reading lately (which are also awesome). I am curious to know the other characters' stories. The book ended a very good note. ♥

Yet So Far
(Bright Park Romance, #2)

Kindle Edition, 94 pages

Published July 21st 2016

Alexa Cartwright isn’t looking to jump into a new relationship after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend, Jonathan, but she’ll be the first to admit she’s lonely. Practically everyone she’s close to is moving far away from Bright Park, the town she grew up in, and being newly single only makes it tougher.

So, when one of her friends offers to set her up with a guy friend to chat with, Alexa is on board right away, as long as they keep it platonic. Nathanael “Nat” Van Buren lives across the country, but the way he and Alexa connect, it feels like he’s right there with her. He’s quickly becoming her best friend… and maybe more?

Alexa can’t ignore how her heart beats wildly when she thinks about Nat, but she’s also determined to stick to her original plan: staying single until she’s absolutely sure that a man would be right for her. When the opportunity arises for Alexa to meet Nat in person, though, she’s curious to find out if her feelings change—just in time for a much improved Jonathan to show up at her door, offering her what she’s wanted from the start.

This is a complete story – no cliffhanger. It is the second in a series about the residents of Bright Park, but reading the first book is not required. This book is closer to novella length at approximately 30,000 words.

Know By Heart
(Bright Park Romance, #3)
Kindle Edition, 87 pages
Published September 5th 2016

Laurel Moore’s ideal future consists of two things: a steady career and a stable relationship. Now that she’s got the job part down, she’s ready to focus on the other goal, and she’s found a guy who seems almost perfect: her not-yet-official boyfriend, Grant. The only problem? He’s focused on the marriage and kids dream, and she’s not feeling it.

Besides, Laurel’s kidding herself if she thinks she’s over her best friend and long-time crush, Brandon, the ladies’ man of Bright Park. Even worse, her friends accuse her of still having feelings for Seth, a sexy wise-guy that she’d made out with a couple of years back. And they might not be wrong.

It’s time for Laurel to sort all of this out before things get too serious with Grant. Does she still want to be with this great guy, even though they want different things in life? Should she pursue Brandon now that he’s newly single, even when she has a feeling he doesn’t want her like that? And if she really is in love with Brandon, then why can’t she stop thinking about Seth?

** Please note: This book contains sexual content and frequent profanity. **

This is a complete story – no cliffhanger. It is the third in a series about the residents of Bright Park, but reading the earlier books is not required. This book is closer to novella length at approximately 30,000 words.

Know By Heart (Bright Park Romance Book 3)Know By Heart by Sibyl Eisley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for honest review.

This is such a great, quickie-type read. I love how the character don't end up with each other right away. They grow slowly, they build up to getting into a relationship. I would have to say that the potential boyfriend character is a total 180, but it works. I personally feel very similar Laurel's character because best friend-turned-lovers are some of my favorite plots. Laurel and Seth are complete opposites of each other, which is most definitely the best reason to see that they attract.

This is the perfect winter read, seeing it takes place in the winter. As a matter of fact, I curled up with a blanket and was all cozy while reading. Super cute, super quick, and sweetly romantic with a dash of steamy. Perfection in my book.

Turn To Love
(Bright Park Romance Book 4)
Kindle Edition, 98 pages
Published November 26th 2016

Caelyn Jones hadn’t planned to have a guy as a roommate—especially one as cynical and disorganized as Drexel Blackford—but she’s not in a position to be picky. His apartment is by far the most convenient and affordable for her. And besides, Drexel’s super hot, and he’s not mean to her or anything. He just doesn’t show any desire to be her friend.

Still, Caelyn is determined to be an optimist, even while going through the heartache with her estranged parents and the silent treatment she receives from her best friend. It doesn’t matter if Drexel’s the opposite of her in every way. She’ll find a way to become his friend, and ideally, something more.

But her positive thinking can only last for so long when there’s no one around to build her up. Drexel might be part of the reason she finally breaks down… but he also could be the only one to help put her back together.

** Please note: This book contains mild sexual content and frequent profanity. **

This is a complete story – no cliffhanger. It is the fourth in a series about the residents of Bright Park, but reading the earlier books is not required. This book is closer to novella length at approximately 30,000 words.

Turn To Love (Bright Park Romance Book 4)Turn To Love by Sibyl Eisley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love Caelyn and Drexel! ♥

Welcome back to Bright Park for an all new love story. Caelyn is needing a place to live, and Drexel is looking for a new roommate. He's hot, and Caelyn can admit to that, but he's taken. And he has a personal rule about dating a roommate.

I really liked the added detail of Caelyn having dyslexia and how Drexel helps her find methods to overcome it in her own pace. The camaraderie between characters is so heartwarming and how Caelyn tries not to let her attraction to Drexel get in the way, but she has to admit it to herself. Sibyl knows how to bring a story to a proper close, and leave you curious to know what will happen in the next character's story.

Us All Along
(Bright Park Romance, #5)
Published March 2017

Maryanne Gates has always been “the shy girl,” but snotty comments from her roommate about her virginity has her desperate to change that image. She’s never felt more ready to gain confidence and lose her V-card. And she wants to do it with Dan, the sexy but cocky guy of her dreams. There’s one problem: even though Dan is single, it’s obvious he has a thing for Robyn, the nicest girl in Bright Park.

But Lake DuBois, Maryanne’s most outgoing and amusing coworker, could be the solution to that problem. Lake also likes Robyn, and if Maryanne helps Lake win Robyn over, Dan might move on and finally notice Maryanne.

It sounds like the perfect plan, but after spending so much time with Lake, Maryanne’s falling hard for him. Whether she risks their friendship by confessing her feelings or sticks to the original goal of a one-night stand, her future looks full of rejection with both Lake and Dan chasing Robyn. It would take an exceptional amount of courage for “the shy girl” to take action—if she even has a chance at all.

** Please note: This book contains mild sexual content and frequent profanity. **

This is a complete story – no cliffhanger. It is the final book in a series about the residents of Bright Park, but reading the earlier books is not required. This book is closer to novella length at approximately 25,000 words.

Us All Along (Bright Park Romance, #5)Us All Along by Sibyl Eisley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

DISCLAIMER: I received an e-ARC of this book from the author for honest review. Opinions are my own and remain unbiased.

This book is so what I needed today. Read in one go. Maryanne is so me! Introverted. A bookworm. Shy when with a crowd. Her roommate, Addison, reminded me of my younger step-sister who (for a while) treated me exactly the same way Addison treats Maryanne. Lake is my ideal dream-guy brought to life in this book. Friends to lovers feel, both characters like someone else at first and talk to each other about their love problems, until things start changing for Maryanne. I resonate with her so much. My dad is nothing like Maryanne's father, thank goodness, but everything else about her character is so me.
I needed something short and sweet today. And that is exactly what I got from reading this book. After all the hard-core books I've been reading over the last couple weeks, this is exactly what I needed to refresh myself.

Thank you for taking the time to scroll through this post. It really does mean a lot to me. Be sure to check out this series! If you're in need of something quick and sweet, these are the books to pick up. Also, they are a great price. Only $1.99 ea., with the exception of the first book. Which is perm-free. So, yeah. Go for 'em!
