In life there are so many things we have to deal with: trouble in the home, at the job and the internal
struggles that plague us all. At times it can feel as though we are on a battlefield, having to deal with
fighting from every side, maneuvering through the landmines of life. In SOLDIER WITH A BACKPACK,
however, author Linda Diane Wattley reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles that we face---and
we can overcome and be winners in the fight.
Linda is not just talking about something she has heard. She shows us in the book how she was able to go
through her own personal trials and come out on the other side. That doesn't mean she was unscathed,
but she was able to keep her faith and not allow the things she was facing to defeat or destroy her.
That is what we all have to do. She also shares in the book how she did what she could to help her son
who was dealing with PTSD, focusing on the stress and allowing him to see how anything can be overcome
if you don't give up.
This is one of those books that will motivate and inspire you as you are going through your own difficulties. Again, it doesn't mean that your faith will keep you experiencing challenges, but it does mean that you won't have to go through it alone.
